Speak Up Mandarin Improv is a great way to start learning mandarin phrases used in daily interactions!
Want to get an internship or a job in China but don’t know where to start? Mandarin Improv is the perfect class for you!

The class is grammar and scenario based: each week will teach you basics of the language and you will apply it to a scenario conversation!

The cost is only $10 for the winter semester ($5 for MCSS members!)

Lesson 1
Grammar and basic knowledge
• The four tones, simple and conjugate consonants
• Theme: Greeting people, introducing yourself
Lesson 2
Singular and plural expression
• Counting
• Expressing plural forms of different subjects
• Theme: Restaurant and food
Lesson 3
Asking questions
• Different ways of asking a question
• Tones involved in turning a sentence into a question
• Theme: Asking for directions and location

Expressing possession
• Indicating possession of objects and property
